Job Summary and Qualifications
Multi-Modality Technologist may perform procedures in multiple modalities (which may include): MRI, CT and Diagnostic X-ray *. It is expected that Multi-Modality staff work in the modality assigned as volume and patient load dictates to ensure quality and safe care of patients. Must be ARRT Certified in advanced modalities CT and MRI, RT (CT) (MRI) ARRT. Certification in MRI/CT required at hire (preferred) or obtained within 6 months of employment date or end of cross training period *Note – Since all technologist job descriptions are the same with the exception of the technical section – each are include below for the areas that are applicable. MRI Technologists - The MRI technologist is responsible for performing a variety of complex specialized technical tasks utilizing magnetic waves to assist with the detection of anatomical abnormalities. Has working knowledge of the equipment used and operates equipment to produce quality MRI images in the most efficient and safe manner. Has knowledge of MRI Magnet Safety and applies safety concepts daily to ensure a safe environment CT technologists- The CT technologist is responsible for performing a variety of complex specialized technical tasks utilizing radiation to assist with the detection of anatomical abnormalities. Has working knowledge of the equipment used and operates equipment to produce quality images in the most efficient and safe manner. Has knowledge of Radiation Safety principles and applies ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) concepts to every patient, every time Diagnostic X-ray Technologists - Performs those duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation for the purpose of detecting pathology. Has working knowledge of the equipment used and operates equipment to produce quality images in the most efficient and safe manner. Has knowledge of Radiation Safety principles and applies ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) concepts to every patient, every time Reports to the Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology
Graduate of an accredited advanced modality program (preferred)
Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology

Licensure/Certifications: Kentucky Radiation Operators Certificate
American Registry of Radiologic Technologist ARRT

Basic Life Support CPR
