JOB SUMMARY

The Sr Manager of Leadership Development is responsible for creating and enhancing Leadership and Team Development programs and tools. This role supports various brands and the Leadership/Management discipline, catering to hourly, management, and executive levels. Key responsibilities include providing leadership, managing projects, designing instructional materials, and overseeing development and delivery. The role will also manage Instructional Designers and external vendors, guiding both internal and external design teams in the creation of learning resources.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

Required

  • 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hospitality, Education, or related major.
  • 5+ years of related work experience in the leadership development and learning discipline.
  • Experience consulting to business leaders, providing training design and development across multiple mediums (e.g., instructor-led, eLearning, video, virtual-ILT).

Preferred

  • Graduate/post-graduate degree in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, or related Education field.
  • Hospitality/Lodging industry and Marketing expertise preferred with general knowledge of brands, hotel operations, continent and headquarters environments.
  • Demonstrated success working in a complex, service-intensive, deadline-driven environment associated with consumer, marketing, or various initiatives.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

  • Develop and implement comprehensive leadership and team development programs tailored to various brands and management levels, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and incorporation of the latest industry trends and best practices.
  • Lead instructional designers and manage relationships with external vendors to ensure the creation of high-quality learning materials through clear direction and feedback.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify learning objectives, define output milestones, budget requirements, and timelines for successful project implementation.
  • Collaborate with the Performance Advisor to plan and prioritize annual learning initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and addressing specific client development needs.
  • Develop and execute communication strategies to effectively launch and promote leadership development programs, ensuring stakeholder engagement through various channels and technologies.
  • Implement a variety of delivery modalities, such as VILT, social and experiential learning techniques, digital platforms, and simulations, tailored to the specific objectives of each leadership development initiative.
  • Create a work environment that encourages accountability, high standards, and innovation by promoting a culture of continuous improvement and supporting associates in achieving their professional goals.
  • Provide direction and assistance to other functional areas to ensure efficient resource use, facilitate collaboration, and share knowledge across units, offering expert advice on leadership development best practices.
  • Continuously research and stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in leadership development, incorporating new insights and innovations into the organization’s programs to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills and interact effectively with subject matter experts across various disciplines or brands to ensure learning solutions are informed by expert insights and aligned with industry standards.

The salary range for this position is $108,300 to $172,400 annually.
