About the unit:
- Newly constructed 19-bed closed observation unit – focus on the following diagnoses:
- Chest pain, Syncope, COPD Astha Exacerbation, Pneumonia, TIA, UTI, AKI, Dizziness & Peripheral Vertigo, ESRD and Missed Dialysis, Cellulitis and Intractable Nausea and Vomiting.
- Plan of care focused on discharging patients safely with protocolized care pathways within 24 hours
- Increased nurse autonomy in facilitating care plan with support of Charge Nurse and Throughput Nurse
- Designated provider team (MDs/ APPs) available with Care Management support
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the RN provides age-appropriate care. - With guidance and oversight of the Registered Nurse, performs duties to support the daily care and mobility of the patient.
- In a team relationship, gathers data relevant to the individual needs of the patient and/or family and immediately reports status to appropriate personnel.
- In conjunction with patient assessment performed by licensed professional staff, performs selected advanced procedures.
- Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and accountability in the Critical Care Tech role.
- Complies with LifeBridge patient safety mission, policies, and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid CNA Certificate from the Maryland Board of Nursing
- Minimum of 6 months experience as a CNA, or 6 months experience as a Medical Corpsman, EMT, or comparable positions, or currently enrolled in an accredited RN BSN program – must have successfully completed the Fundamentals of Nursing and one semester of adult acute care clinical requirement
- Current Health Care Provider Certification from the American Heart Association
