About the Veterinary Technician Emergency Coordinator Role
We are looking to add to our growing hospital and are in search of a Veterinary Nurse (Veterinary Technician) with at least three years of experience in veterinary medicine to work as our Emergency Coordinator.
Schedule & Compensation
Schedule: 6 am- 6pm TH-Sat, or 12 pm-10 pm Sun-Weds, or 6 am-4pm Sun-Weds
Compensation: From $28/hr
Sign on bonus:$5,000
What You’ll Do
- Responsible for maintaining the flow of tasks and manage the treatment room needs
- Assignment of nurses to patients, shift roles, and other tasks as they present
- Attend, update and pass on patient rounds
- Perform various treatments on an in-house and outpatient basis
- Position and capture of radiographs
- Investigate and deescalate conflict among team members and clients in the absence of management
- Ensure protocols and policies are followed by team members
- Receive call outs/lateness phone calls informing the appropriate manager of occurrences, and determine the need for on-call team member usage
Requirements
- Three plus years of experience in veterinary medicine
- Current CVT/LVT/RVT preferred or educational equivalent
- Broad knowledge of basic small animal medicine (pharmacology, proper restraint/handling, venipuncture, laboratory testing)
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of medical terminology, medications, and disease processes
- Attention to detail and a calm demeanor
- Ability to work in a fast paced, environment
- Proficient computer skills
- Ability to communicate with clients, and team members (verbally and written)
