Job Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator assists in evaluations of staff as well as all educational needs for the dialysis department. The role requires monitoring, reporting and evaluating policy and labor activities to the Manager of Dialysis and the Division Dialysis Director. In collaboration with these other members of the management team, the Clinical Nurse Coordinator directs, monitors, and evaluates non-licensed clinical personnel in accordance with established policies/procedures and models a commitment to St. David’s Healthcare’s vision/mission/values and goals.

  • Determine the predictable or unpredictable health status and health needs of patients (individual and family) through interpretation of health data and preventive practice in collaboration with patients and interdisciplinary health care team members.
  • Utilize a systematic approach to provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care.
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient.
  • Implement nursing care within the RN’s scope of practice, including compliance with other laws that apply to the practice setting.
  • Ensures equipment maintenance is performed regularly and according to regulatory and/or accreditation standards.
  • Provide education, emotional support and age specific care to foster a partnership with the patient and significant others.
  • Provide for the care of multiple patients either through direct care or assignment and/or delegation of care to other members of the healthcare team.
  • Evaluate the patient’s responses and outcomes to therapeutic interventions.
  • Use critical thinking approach to analyze clinical data and current literature as a basis for decision making in nursing practice.
  • Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Experience

  • 1 Year experience required

Education

· Bachelors’ Degree Required

License and Certifications

· Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire

· Basic Life Support (BLS) required as per St. David’s Healthcare policy

· Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required as per St. David’s Healthcare policy
