Clinical Director (RN)
Position Overview
The Clinical Director of Nursing is a key leader responsible for overseeing and evaluating nursing services locations. This role involves managing operational services, ensuring compliance with regulations, and delivering exceptional care to patients while supporting Aveanna Healthcare’s mission of growth. The Clinical Director collaborates with the Area Clinical Director to implement and develop programs, supervises the nursing team, and ensures the highest standards of patient care.
Essential Job Functions
- Assign patients to nursing coordinators and/or RN supervisors.
- Maintain effective communication with families and physicians.
- Review new referrals and recommend appropriate nursing care.
- Monitor the clinical status and care coordination of patients.
- Ensure quality and appropriateness of patient care.
- Oversee staffing patterns and ensure proper coverage.
- Ensure compliance with the Nurse Practice Act and relevant regulations.
- Supervise and evaluate staff based on established job goals.
- Contribute to and support the IOP Plan development.
- Keep RN supervisors/clinical care managers updated on policies and procedures.
- Assist in hiring, orientation, and education of registry nurses as needed.
- Stay informed on third-party payer rules and regulations.
- Support marketing initiatives and maintain budget awareness.
- Facilitate interdepartmental communication and collaboration.
- Provide direct patient care when required.
- Participate in administrative and clinical calls.
- Conduct on-site visits to assess patient care, environment, and caregiver performance.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Active Nursing License.
- Minimum of one year of management experience.
- Relevant clinical or work experience as required by state and federal regulations.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in pediatrics/neonatal care.
- At least one year of home care experience.
- CPR Instructor certification.

- Office-based with occasional travel.
- Exposure to various environments, allergens, and conditions.
- Potential exposure to infectious diseases and bodily fluids.
