Responsibilities - Custom Automotive Modification Technician:
Perform accessory installations including the following:
- Lift kits on Jeeps and Trucks
- Lighting installations as part of a kit or custom fabrication of electrical harnesses.
- Off-road steel bumper installations
- Wheel and tire installations up to 40” in size with mounting and balancing.
- Basic car audio installations including speaker installation and radio replacement.
- Towing and hauling accessories such as tow hitches with wiring and roof cargo management.
- Lowering kits and coil-over installations
- Lighting and calibration module installation.
- Side-step installation fixed and power styles.
- Provide an estimate of the time needed for repairs.
- Perform multi-point inspection and diagnose malfunction(s).
- Repair automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air-conditioning, etc., in accordance with dealership standards
- Test-drive vehicles before and after installations
- Test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
- Learn new technical information and techniques in training sessions
- Adhere to company regulations and keep abreast of recalls and updates
- Report any damaged or defective equipment to management
- Report safety issues to management and ensure a clean working area
Qualifications/Requirements - Custom Automotive Modification Technician:
- 12V automotive electrical skills strongly preferred
- Mechanical/troubleshooting skills and the ability to operate electronic diagnosticequipment
- Good work ethic and problem-solving skills
- Thrives in a fast-paced, team environment
- Motivated to learn new repair/service procedures
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- High school diploma or GED
