Job Description
We are looking for a Senior UI/UX Designer to develop and maintain WordPress websites from scratch. This position will be full-time and hybrid in Trenton, NJ.
What You'll Do
Website needs to be modernized from static html, css, and media technology to WordPress CMS technology.
Design the web-site wireframe while working with the Business Unit and the IT Development Team.
Gather Requirements of the pages, identify number of existing pages and links that exists (about 150), and reorganize them so that they are mainstream and appealing to the public.
Configure WordPress content.
Edit media files including audio, video, and images.
Track the progress of modernization and provide weekly summary, dashboard on accomplishments, task ahead, and issues to address.
Assist on other webpage modernizations and the Division’s internal inet page, to quickly ramp up on the tools used by the existing WordPress development team.
Design and create wireframes for user interfaces (UI).
What You'll Need
Required:
Proven experience as a WordPress Developer
Ability to port WordPress sites from development environment
Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
Work with and customize various WordPress plugins, including Elementor, Updraft Plus, and Yoast
Edit and reconfigure media content such as photos, videos, and audio
Strong ability to edit and manage media content (photos, videos, and audio)
Design and implement creative web pages with a keen eye for aesthetics and user experience
Creative skills with a strong sense of design and layout
Ability to collaborate with business units to capture and understand business requirements
Experience in designing wireframes and user interfaces
Ensure website performance, security, and responsiveness
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Preferred:
Experience with SEO best practices
Familiarity with web hosting environments and domain management
Knowledge of version control systems such as Git
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
