JOB PURPOSE:
Performs standard Electroencephalographic (EEG) procedures on inpatients and outpatients as ordered by a physician. Able to provide indirect care by acquisition of EEG tracings for infant, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High school graduate or GED equivalent
One (1) year of experience in EEG Technologist
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of one year of electroencephalography school
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
BLS Required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Registered in one area of neurodiagnostics through ABRET preferred.
KEY EEG RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Performs EEGs.
2. Prepares EEGs for physician reading.
3. Completes documentation.
4. Function as a member of the EEG team.
5. Perform patient chart review and patient interview.
6. Perform lead placement and review impedance.
7. Communicate with others in the lab, nursing and physician staff.
8. Manage the environment by keeping equipment clean and in working order.
9. Possibility for occasional on-call time for urgent/stat EEGs ordered by neurologist.

Ability to work as a member of a team
Skill and ability in Microsoft applications.
