JOB SUMMARY:

Senior Process Engineer at our Chemicals facility in Crosby, TX! This role provides an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in chemical engineering to optimize production processes, develop innovative products, and lead capital improvement projects. As a key team member, you will work closely with operations, maintenance, and safety teams to ensure operational excellence, drive efficiency, and maintain safety and environmental compliance. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plant Operations
Collaborate with the operations team to troubleshoot and resolve production-related issues.
Identify and implement opportunities to reduce production costs and improve batch cycle times.
Assess and improve plant processing capabilities and address operational limitations.
Partner with process chemists to address production challenges and improve yield.
Collaborate with the maintenance team to resolve equipment issues effectively.
Support the HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) team to address safety and environmental concerns.
Provide Process Safety Management (PSM) expertise, including compliance and safety improvements.

Project Management
Evaluate projects for technical and economic feasibility to ensure optimal resource utilization.
Design and specify required equipment for project execution and plant upgrades.
Proactively identify and mitigate potential processing hazards and quality control issues.
Coordinate with maintenance, construction, and operations teams to ensure equipment readiness.
Implement process changes to optimize production and improve efficiency.
Develop and document operational procedures and conduct training for the operations team.
Ensure compliance with PSM requirements throughout project lifecycles.
Support operations and customers during project start-up, troubleshooting, and success optimization.

Customer Relations
Serve as a key point of contact for project-related communication with customers and internal teams.
Collaborate with customers and sales teams to resolve issues and address feedback.
Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in customer-facing operations.
Ensure the successful operation of new and ongoing projects to meet customer expectations.

Management and Supervision
Provide technical oversight for multiple reactor operating units.
Organize and allocate resources effectively to manage multiple concurrent projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.
10+ years of experience in an industrial chemical processing environment.
Proven expertise in distillation, filtration, and solids handling at an industrial scale.
Strong chemistry knowledge, including Alkoxylation, Maleation, Esterification, and Amine-Acid Reactions.
Hands-on experience with PSM, including Process Hazard Analysis, Management of Change, and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews.
Excellent troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve operational issues effectively.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare detailed reports and deliver effective training.

Preferred:
Advanced Engineering degree.
20+ years of experience in an industrial chemical processing environment.
Experience in both batch and continuous chemical processing.
Experience in the chemical tolling industry.
Familiarity with flares, oxidizers, and wastewater treatment plants.
Pilot plant experience.
RCM (Reliability-Centered Maintenance) expertise.
