What this job involves - Door Technician who will do all roll up door PM's and Auto Door PM's as well as most of the repairs on our client's site. Doors will range from roll up, automated, fire doors, office doors, etc.
What is the day to day
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to analyze the operation of various door/gate systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions and take corrective action as required.
- Candidate must be willing to work in a multi-skilled team environment.
- Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
- Working knowledge of computer applications including Gmail, Google Docs, Word and Excel skills.
- Working knowledge of computer applications including Gmail, Google Docs, Word and Excel skills.
- Servicing and installation of Commercial Doors (Automatic & Overhead) Fire rated and non Fire rated doors.
- Must use tools and equipment appropriately while contributing to a safe working environment.
- Any and all other duties and tasks assigned.
Desired experience and technical skills -
Required
- 3+ years’ experience in commercial doors, automatic doors, hardware, docks & preventative maintenance program
- Experience in metalwork, electrical, welding and general construction
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- AAADM certification
- Must have a positive and professional attitude
- Can Inspect and adjust, repair doors
- Must have valid drivers license
Preferred
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management Systems)
Work Environment
- Stand and walk for prolonged periods.
- Regularly lift, move and/or carry up to 10 pounds; Frequently lift, move and/or carry up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift, move and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
- Perform overhead work often while balanced standing on a ladder.
- Work from heights on a scissor lift and ladders
- Reading, comprehending, writing, performing calculations, communicating orally, reasoning and analyzing
- Bend, kneel, twist and reach to get to areas difficult to access and/or confined areas like closets, crawl spaces, attics, etc.
- Dayshift, Monday-Friday, OT as needed
