The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Technical Manager – Product Engineering, supporting our Surgical Solutions portfolio within the Medical Surgical Business, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Managing product engineering/sustaining initiatives across the Surgical Solutions portfolio within Medical Surgical Business.

  • Driving completion of complex cross-functional programs having major importance to the success of the Medical Surgical Business, that positively impact quality, performance, design improvement, service, and cost through Product & Process Understanding (PPU) efforts.

  • Implementing robust project prioritization and tracking processes to manage workload across your team.

  • Identifying innovative ways to drive impactful product design changes to existing commercialized projects to maximize customer satisfaction and promote business success, work with New Project Introduction (NPI) teams during Scale Up through design ownership transfer.

  • Energizing work groups by creating a climate which encourages innovation, risk taking, team work, high productivity and employee development.

  • Developing and executing global laboratory strategies for the broader, global Medical Surgical Business Product Engineering team.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher AND seven (7) years of experience developing, supporting and/or maintaining commercialized products in a private, public, government or military environment.

OR

  • High School Diploma/GED from AND eleven (11) years of experience developing, supporting and/or maintaining commercialized products in a private, public, government or military environment.

AND

In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:

  • Five (5) years of previous supervisory experience

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Ten (10) years of previous technical supervisory experience OR similar Project Management experience directing work teams.

  • Working knowledge of medical device industry and requirements

  • Working knowledge of drug and drug combo industry and requirements

  • Experience with Quality Management Systems and ISO 13485 design documentation requirements.

  • Demonstrated project/program management experience.

  • Strong communication skills (written, oral, and presentation) and systems proficiency.

  • Proven experience collaborating with laboratory, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing functions.

  • Onsite Maplewood

Travel: May include up to 15% Domestic/International

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $183,301 - $224,034, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
