The Wealth Management Advice and Solutions Division (known as WMAS) at Edward Jones is focused on developing a profound understanding of prospective and current clients' needs, to create an unparalleled experience. Leveraging these critical insights, we implement tailored solutions and enhance our products in ways that enable clients to achieve their financial goals.

From branding and communication to the actual stocks, bonds and mutual funds offered, your work will have a significant impact not only within the WMAS Division but firm wide. Working in this collaborative and fast-paced environment, you will be challenged to bring fresh perspectives that allow us to continually exceed client expectations in an ever-evolving landscape.

Within the Advice and Guidance department of WMAS, the Portfolio Solutions Team (PST) is responsible for both the Advisory Solutions and Guided Solutions investment advisory platforms, including 12 Bridge Builder mutual funds and the Passport Money Market Fund. The Edward Jones Advisory Program is over $300 billion dollars and growing, representing 15% of the firm's total assets under care. The Bridge Builder fund complex comprises 12 multi-sub-adviser mutual funds with approximately $150 billion in assets.

PST is seeking a Portfolio Manager to join our growing team of 16 investment professionals. We exist to help our clients meet and exceed their goals by providing unbiased, best-in-class portfolio guidance and oversight. We take on the complexity of portfolio construction so financial advisors can focus on our clients' complete wealth management needs.

PST includes the Core/Core Plus Retirement and UMA/Tax-Sensitive Model Teams, as well as a Proprietary Funds Team. The Model Teams are responsible for the management and oversight of all Advisory Solutions and Guided Solutions models. These include retirement and tax-sensitive, UMA, and personalized model platforms. The Proprietary Funds Team is responsible for the management and oversight of the Bridge Builder Funds and the Edward Jones Money Market Fund. This position will specifically support Model Teams within PST.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for providing asset class insights, enhancing, and executing the implementation, portfolio construction, and manager selection within the Bridge Builder mutual funds, as well as the Passport money market fund.
  • Serve as an investment and portfolio construction subject matter expert and deliver high quality recommendations in an efficient basis that support our Bridge Builder funds.
  • Deliver performance results that meet or exceed expectations on behalf of clients.
  • Provide thought and project leadership and mentor associates to aid in the development of the team and improve the ability to serve our clients
  • Contribute to various internal departments and committees in making informed decisions consistent with the firm's long-term strategy.
  • Deliver effective written and verbal communication of investment recommendations and other information to internal departments and governance committees, the Bridge Builder Board of Trustees, branch teams, and/or clients as needed.

Skills/Requirements

Position Requirements:
  • Finance or Economics Bachelor's degree and/or MBA preferred
  • CFA or actively pursuing CFA designation in accordance with firm policy.
  • Series 7 and Series 66 required or attainable in accordance with firm policy
  • 7+ years' experience in investment analysis, portfolio management and/or extensive industry experience preferred.
  • Exceptional knowledge of fixed income and equity markets, strategies and managers. Additional knowledge of alternatives is a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of asset allocation implementation, portfolio construction, and portfolio risk management.
  • Strong knowledge of mutual fund and money management industry, including various managed investments (mutual funds, ETFs, UMAs, and separate accounts.)
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, and other software programs (Morningstar Direct, Microsoft Office, FactSet, BlackRock Aladdin, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a high attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills, with the demonstrated ability to solve complex, non-routine problems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing and presenting research to FAs, clients, mutual fund companies and internal areas within the firm (including governance committees and/or independent boards).
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team-based environment
