Job Summary and Qualifications
Under the general direction of the Chief Nursing Officer's, the Shared Director of Respiratory Therapy provides respiratory therapy leadership for assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care of assigned area. Communicates department/corporate goals to associated staff in order to facilitate team unity and motivate individuals; serves as a resource to staff and physicians; establishes and maintains project completion schedules; collaborates with associates in development and review of related programs and services; ensures adequate staffing and responsible to manage the daily operations of the department. Provides staff supervision which includes but is not limited to clinical skills, disciplinary counseling, evaluations, Kronos, scheduling, Meditech, Productivity, Budget, eMAR, and Plus. Monitors the completion of education, competency, certification and licensing requirements of respiratory therapy staff. Supports the hospitals mission in accordance with regulatory standards.

What qualifications you will need:
  • Must be registered with the National Board for Respiratory Care as an Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT); must be licensed with the State of Missouri. Ability to work well with variety of healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, allied health professionals and general clerical staff. Planning, organizing and analytical skills require. American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS upon hire.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Bachelor’s Degree; graduate of an AMA accredited school for Respiratory Therapy.
  • 3 years of hospital Respiratory Therapy experience; 2 years related supervisory or lead RT experience.
