We’re looking for:

As a Dispatcher, you will coordinate the daily activity within the transportation department, including ensuring timely and efficient dispatch of drivers for pick up/deliveries, coordinating sublet transportation carriers, posting charges, and reporting on transportation department activities to local management and our corporate office.

You are:

  • Organized. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can stay organized when handling multiple tasks.

  • Detail-oriented. You will ensure a high degree of accuracy in your tasks, in accordance with our customer and company requirements.

  • Team-oriented. You will support the Transport Supervisor/Manager with the day-to-day, and willing to jump in where needed to assist.

You will:

  • Coordinate the movement of vehicles to and from the Vehicle Logistics Centers (VLC), including dispatching loads for correct arrival designation, and completing all related paperwork to ensure a smooth transaction.

  • Manually or electronically enter data in an accurate and timely manner, including vehicle information, locations, and other documents, into our transportation and inventory management systems.

  • Accurately quoting transportation services, processing transactions, & posting charges according to contracts and company specifications

  • Investigate any discrepancies and communicating same to appropriate personnel in a timely manner

  • Coordinate with lead drivers to ensure vehicles are picked up in a timely and efficient manner

  • May assist with scheduling for transport drivers, ensuring adequate staffing in connection with the volume of driveaway services.

  • Act as a point of contact for transportation services within the VLC, ensuring customers receive prompt, efficient, and courteous attention; and escalating any concerns to the Transportation Supervisor/Manager.

  • Pro-actively promote transportation services in collaboration with our Sales & Dealer Relations teams.

  • May assist with onboarding, training, and supporting transportation employees with job related tasks

  • Ensure all company vehicles are in safe operating condition by scheduling regular maintenance and ensure weekly van inspections are completed in accordance with our safety program.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Must haves:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • 1-3 Years’ of related experience in a logistics or dispatching role

  • Tech-savvy, and comfortable using Google Suite

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

Nice to Haves:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset

  • Self-starter who can assess work volumes and ensure timely completion of prioritized tasks

  • Experience with AMS, VTrace, and other OPENLANE systems

  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
