Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Lead System Safety Specialist to support our contract under Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) and Program Executive Officer Land Systems (PEO LS) out of Quantico, VA.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- The Safety Team Lead supports the MCSC SED contractor team by facilitating tasking, communication, and collaboration across the 10+ Program Offices supported by the contract.
- The Safety Team Lead advises the Program Manager (PM) on project status, resource requirements, technical issues affecting the performance of the organization in delivering high quality products to the customer.
- The Safety Team Lead also maintains relationships with major customer Technical Points of Contact to understand customer needs and satisfaction with contractor deliverables. Specifically, the Safety Team Lead is the main interface to MCSC Command Safety and Acquisition Safety Offices.
- Performs as a technical expert supporting system safety activities on the contract.
- Provide an Enterprise perspective for individual system safety specialists as they conduct analysis and support customer requirements.
- Direct supervision of ManTech employees and oversight of subcontractor team members.
- Oversee multiple system safety projects and provide guidance on the application of MIL-STD-882E.
- Consolidate and report project status updates and issues.
- Mentor other technical staff in the execution of their daily duties.
- Plan, coordinate, and participate in MCSC SED meetings and events
Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires a Bachelors Degree and at least 7 years of system safety experience. (Additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.)
- At least 7 years of experience with MCSC Acquisition Guidebook, DoDI 5000.02 and MIL-STD 882E safety guidance and best practices
- Have extensive knowledge of Marine Corps System Safety Processes, including the
relationship between Command Safety and Program Principles for Environmental Safety
and Occupational Health (PESOHs). - Knowledge of Navy Weapon System Explosive Safety Review Board (WSESRB), Laser
Safety Review Board (LSRB), and Lithium Battery Safety practices, procedures, systems
and interfaces
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with OSHA regulations.
- Highly proficient in team building and enterprise thinking.
- Superior written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to think critically, problem-solve, and influence others to achieve desired results for the project.
- Capable of working collaboratively on multiple projects simultaneously
Clearance Requirements:
- Must have an active TS/SCI security clearance
