Responsibilities include but not limited to:
The PSO-2 is a mid-level security professional who provides advice and assistance to government security officers remotely.
Work myriad security issues in a multi-disciplined and complex organization.
This position requires a proven working knowledge of classification management, information systems security, personnel security, and physical security for the purpose of providing guidance to customers and industry partners.
Conduct briefings and indoctrinations to a variety of audiences and must be able to convey information in a clear and articulate manner.
Communicate effectively with Senior NRO leaders.
Positions Requirements:
HS Diploma and 8 or more years relevant experience or Bachelor's Degree and 3 or more years relevant program security officer experience
Ability to work high-level, complex or sensitive security issues thoroughly and with discretion
Have excellent writing skills a must
Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with other Government Agencies and mission partners
Demonstrated ability to identify and assess multiple sources for classification determinations
Substantive experience providing risk-managed security recommendations to program managers, in support of secure and successful mission accomplishment
Ability to handle complex security issues
Assist in the development of security policies and implementation procedures.
Assist the government in the NRO Integrated Security Assessment Program (ISAP)
Ability to analyze complex information, independently, take appropriate actions, and review and approve recommendations from others
Ability to prioritize competing requirements and tasks and managing long-term tasks as well as short-term obligations
Demonstrated experience working with industrial security staffs
Have a working knowledge and be able to implement Intelligence Community Directives as well as NRO Directives and Instructions
Ability to effectively provide PSO guidance, assistance and training
Thorough knowledge of the NRO and/or the IC
Working knowledge of the NRO Security and Counterintelligence Manual (NSCM) and the National Industrial Security Program Oversight Manual (NISPOM) security policy and procedures
Working knowledge of classification, control, marking, and dissemination principles and requirements
Conduct document classification reviews to include FOIA and Pre-publication reviews
Knowledge of program protection methodologies and risk management principles as they relate to appropriately protecting and sharing NRO information, missions, operations, and assets
Ability to make compelling and articulate recommendations for Program Security decisions to Directorate and Office Directors of Security, Program Managers, and Directorate leadership
Ability to travel 25% CONUS and OCONUS
Work hours 6:00pm – 2:00am
