Sterile Processing Technician

We are looking to add to our growing hospital and are in search of a Sterile Processing Technician to join our Surgery Department. This role is crucial in maintaining the cleanliness and integrity of surgical suites, instruments, and supplies required for the operating room.

This position offers an incredible opportunity to work alongside veterinarians, surgical nurses, and hospital support staff while gaining valuable experience in a specialty and emergency veterinary hospital setting.

The schedule we are hiring for is: Monday-Friday 8 AM - 4 PM ANDMonday-Friday 11 AM - 7 AM

Requirements

Your skills & experience and how you'll utilize them to help our patients:

  • Experience in a clinical or surgical setting is appreciated but not required.
  • Understanding of aseptic principles and their application to surgical patients, instruments, equipment, and rooms.
  • Strong knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical instrumentation, and operating room procedures.
  • Ability to perform effective decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization of surgical instruments, anesthesia hoses, and endotracheal tubes.
  • Stocking and organizing surgical suites and maintaining a clean, efficient workspace.
  • Working collaboratively with the Clinical Support Manager, Anesthesia Coordinator, veterinarians, and nursing staff to ensure smooth surgical operations.
  • Ability to follow directions, ask for clarification when needed, and work independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to continued professional development with opportunities for advancement to Level 2 Surgery & Sterilizing Technician within two years.
