Job Description
Salvaggio Academy, a small private school, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Classroom Teacher. This position will join our team caring for the children of SA employees who range in age from 6-weeks to 5-years old. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating educational environment in a mixed ages classroom. This role involves implementing age-appropriate activities, fostering social and emotional development and collaborating with other nursery staff to support each child’s growth.

What You’ll Do
Implement play-based learning, hands-on activities and education experience for all age groups
Manage up to 8 students from 6 weeks of age to 5 years old with a co-teacher
Maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom environment
Establish and enforce classroom rules and routines that promote positive behavior and respect
Foster a nurturing and supportive atmosphere that encourages social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
Promote positive interactions among children, helping them develop essential social skills
Address and support the diverse needs of children, including those with special needs or developmental delays
Change diapers as needed for all age groups
Follow appropriate feeding schedules for all age groups
Maintain open and effective communication with parents, providing regular updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns
Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to create a cohesive and supportive educational community
Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events as needed
What You’ll Need
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred (Candidates actively enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program will be considered)
Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Mission driven mindset.
Creative and innovative approach to teaching and learning
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Ability to be flexible with schedule changes
Ability to create a positive, loving, and engaging learning environment
Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
Ability to stand, sit, and move around the classroom for extended periods.
