Our Night Pharmacist focuses on prioritizing and organizing the workload of pharmacy technical personnel on the night shift, taking into account available resources by providing leadership, clinical, educational, informational and distribution functions.
- Assure the appropriateness of a medication order including age-specific and organ-specific factors, allergy checking, duplicate checking and drug interaction checking before preparing or permitting the distribution of the first dose.
- Ensure the accuracy of records pertaining to controlled substances, medication compounding, prepackaging, and sterile product preparation.
- Collect and organize all patient-specific information (medication work-up) including prevention, detection and resolution of medication-related problems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy; licensure or eligibility for licensure in Georgia.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
- One year of hospital experience and PGY1 residency preferred.
