PRN-CATERING COORDINATOR

Performs preparation and services of catered functions, coordinating supplies, food and supplemental staffing, as needed. Will work with the Food Services Operations Manager or Supervisor, and the Event and Multimedia Specialist to coordinate events and catering functions. May also be requested to complete other food service duties as assigned which may include light food preparation, cafeteria service, cashiering or patient tray service functions. Takes into consideration, age-related factors as they related to food service functions for pediatrics, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in accordance with the departmental standards and diet manual.

Coordinates the duties and schedules for the catering program, and directs additional staff as needed for larger functions. Serves food both accurately and timely to customers according to departmental standards. Responds to customer needs in a timely manner Coordinates the catering menu selections with customers, production staff, Director/Manager/Supervisor. Correctly interprets and prepares the menus for catering functions Processes all software, paperwork and calendars for catering functions as provided through the Meeting Room Manager, or any future scheduling/ordering software. Checks food and supplies for compliance with sanitation and safety according to departmental standards. Stores food and supplies according to departmental standards. Identifies and reports defective equipment in a timely manner to manager, supervisor and facilities department through hospital approved reporting system. Performs cleaning activities according to departmental standards. Utilizes proper channels of communication to resolve departmental issues on an ongoing basis. Attends and participates in staff meetings and in-services according to departmental standards. Maintains a neat, clean and safe work environment according to departmental standards Demonstrates the ability to function independently in the absence of a supervisor by solving routine problems. Consistently functions as a resource to other members of the department and perform other duties as assigned. Actively participates in and/or leads catering service initiatives as defined by the department.
