Overview:
You will assist the Kill Chain Automation and Weapons Autonomy efforts by working with developers, task leads, program managers, and customers to ensure the appropriate integration of hardware and software elements. Leveraging your strong software background, you will design, implement, and maintain complex systems that optimize the performance and delivery of the customer's software products. You will assist in managing the cost, schedule, and performance of the efforts.
Travel: Negligible Clearance:
An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering, scientific, or related technical discipline
- 5+ years of experience in DoD systems architectures, design, development, and test and evaluation
- Strong software development background
- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems
- 2+ years of experience in software architecture drawing tools using object-oriented programming principles and design patterns
Responsibilities:
Design and implement scalable and reliable system architectures:
- Analyze program requirements, translate the solutions that meet performance, security, and scalability needs.
Collaborate deeply within the software development lifecycle:
- Work hand-in-hand with development teams throughout the SDLC, from requirements gathering and design to testing, deployment, and maintenance, ensuring systems seamlessly support each stage.
Champion and implement efficient software processes:
- Drive the adoption and refinement of robust software development processes, including CI/CD pipelines and automation, to streamline development and deployment.
Automate system tasks and processes:
- Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment, scaling, management, and testing of our systems.
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies:
- Research and evaluate new technologies and tools to identify opportunities for system improvement and innovation within the software development ecosystem.
Document system designs and processes:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system architectures, configurations, and procedures, ensuring clarity for the development team.
Program Management/Communication skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Ability to develop and generate technical documentation to be given to programs for further inclusion.
Education: A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline is required. Compensation:
Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.
The projected annual compensation range for this position is$82,000 - $122,000 (USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
