We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team as an ED Boarder. The RN will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients admitted to the hospital but awaiting an inpatient bed, ensuring their needs are met while they remain in our Emergency Department

Unit Summary: - 60,000 visits annually - 50 licensed beds, with 5 different care areas - Pediatric ED - Staffed with board certified Emergency Medicine Pediatricians- Behavioral Health section of ED - Verified American College of Surgeons Level 3 Trauma Center - Certified Stroke Center - Primary Angioplasty program -DPHSANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) program

This is an exceptional opportunity to work in a fast-paced Emergency Department (ED) and tojoin a 3-time Magnet-recognized, community-based hospital.

Hours:

Full Time, 36 hours/week, Days 7a-7p

Every third weekend, rotating holidays


Requirements:

  • Provide continuous nursing care for admitted ED boarder patients awaiting inpatient beds.

  • Monitor patient conditions, including vital signs, symptoms, and overall well-being.

  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered.

  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.

  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information in EPIC

  • Educate patients and families on care plans and hospital processes.

  • Independently provide direct nursing care to patients and their families in accordance with established policies, procedures, and practices

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year Emergency Department experience

  • Active MA RN licensure in good standing

  • BSN is strongly preferred

  • Associate’s degree required

  • BLSrequired

  • ACLS required

  • 1-2 years of Critical Care Experience
