Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU
Job Summary: The RN in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) monitors and cares for patients who are recovering from anesthesia after surgery. This role involves close observation, managing pain and potential complications, and ensuring a safe transition to the next phase of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patient status post-anesthesia, monitoring vital signs and level of consciousness.
- Administer medications for pain management or nausea as needed.
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient recovery progress.
- Identify and respond to complications or emergencies in a timely manner.
- Communicate with surgical teams and families regarding patient status and care plans.
