Responsibilities:

Saint John Hospital in Leavenworth, Kansas, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Med/Surg Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the medical-surgical unit, ensuring the best possible outcomes and maintaining the hospital’s standards of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver direct patient care under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RNs) and physicians in the medical-surgical unit.
• Administer medications, perform wound care, monitor vital signs, and carry out physician orders accurately.
• Assist with patient assessments, document patient conditions, and update care plans accordingly.
• Educate patients and families on disease management, medications, and post-discharge care.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and emergencies.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current and valid state license.

2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.

3. IV certification upon hire (state specific).
