As aPhysical Therapist, you willparticipatein the evaluation and treatment of patients based upon current principles and practices ofPT (Physical Therapy). The Physical Therapist willassistwith self-development, staff education, mentoring, orientation, and competency assessment. Primary Duties:

• Provides direct PT evaluations and re-evaluations, including assessment of prior and current level of functioning, settingappropriate goalsand makingappropriate dischargerecommendationsin accordance withstandards of practice.Providesdirect PT treatments according to standards of practice, including patient and family education, progression of treatment plan and implementation ofappropriate therapeuticinterventions.

• Utilizesappropriate documentationforms and abides by PM&R’s documentation standards. Collaborates with physicians, patients,family,and other members of the health care teamrelativeto patient treatment and progress and other affiliated agencies. Activelyparticipatesin meetings, in-services, and roundsregardingpatient care and/or departmental items.

• Supervises PTAs (Physical Therapist Assistants) and rehabilitation technicians. Instructs PT interns and other students asindicatedalong with serving as a mentor for less experienced staff. Coordinates and prioritizes own schedule in relation to demands of patient treatment and other departmental responsibilities.

• Participates in program development as assigned by PT Clinical Leader. Participates in at least 20 contact hours of continuing education programs or other opportunities for learning for continued professional competency.Providesat leasttwo-yearlyin-services to staff and/or community for continuing education purposes.

• Adheres to all Department of Health and Joint Commission regulationsregardingthe physical environment and patient care.Demonstrates participation in at least one non-clinical activity, such as committees, task forces, etc.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in physical therapy.

• Minimum 2 years of current clinical practice, education as defined in education requirements.

• Physical Therapist CurrentD.C(District of Columbia). license or qualified candidate for D.C. license as a Physical Therapist.

• BLS (Basic Life Support).
