Corporate Chef
Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Culinary Excellence
Develop and implement operational plans and systems for new account openings, ensuring all contractual obligations are met.
Assist in implementing corporate and regional programs based on HHS and regulatory standards.
Provide ongoing leadership and support for the Culinary Team (Area Chefs & Unit Chefs) within assigned regions.
Lead training programs on food quality, presentation, and purchasing compliance.
Assist in the development and rollout of new products, recipes, menus, and culinary programs.
Ensure compliance with all HHS purchasing programs and initiatives at the regional level.
Chefs will have responsible oversight for: Retail Areas, PSM Areas, Floor Stock / Doctors Lounge, Catering, and all aspects of Compliance - both Regulatory and HHS Standards
Site & Compliance Management
Conduct regular site visits and complete detailed visitation reports.
Participate in patient visitation rounds with facility management teams during site visits, ensuring adherence to HHS patient visitation policies.
Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations, as well as organizational and departmental policies.
Oversee and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, food handling, and infection control through audits, training, and policy implementation.
Follow and enforce facility and department infection control policies and procedures at each location.
Adhere to facility confidentiality, HIPAA, and patient rights policies.
Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, including JCAHO, OSHA, and other governing bodies.
Financial & Administrative Oversight
Manage the travel budget in a fiscally responsible manner in adherence to the HHS Travel Policy.
Monitor cost control initiatives while maintaining high culinary standards.
Analyze and optimize menu costs, ingredient sourcing, and inventory management.
Provide routine reports and correspondence related to operational performance and compliance.
Skills
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop culinary teams.
Ability to build and maintain client/customer relationships at all levels.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) across all organizational levels, from senior management to hourly team members.
Exceptional culinary expertise, including advanced cooking techniques, ingredient knowledge, and food presentation.
Experience in menu and recipe development, purchasing, and inventory control compliance. Proven ability to manage multiple locations and accounts effectively.
Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation procedures, and regulatory compliance.
Ability to interpret and apply safety rules, operating procedures, and compliance standards.
Comfortable presenting and speaking before groups of customers, clients, and team members.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Programs to include Google Web Based Applications
Requirements
Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience.
Previous experience as a Corporate Chef, Executive Chef, or Culinary Director in a multi-unit organization.
Background in healthcare, hospitality, or food service industries.
Not Required But a Big Plus
- Proficiency in languages other than English, especially Spanish
- Familiarity with OSHA, The Joint Commission, and other regulatory requirements
- Familiarity with HACCP procedures
