Waste Connections, Inc. is Hiring a Diesel Mechanic!
We have an immediate opening for ahigh-energy Diesel Mechanicto join the team at our Miami facility. Previous waste experience is ahuge plus!This position isnight shiftfrom2 PM – 12 AM, Monday to Friday, withevery other Saturday.
Pay:$30+/hr DOE
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform repairs and assigned preventative maintenance services.
- Conduct inspections, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulics, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
- Utilize vehicle computer electronic systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
- Complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software programs to document repairs, parts usage, and repair times.
- Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
- Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
- Extensive physical activity, including strenuous physical work such as heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds.
- Sometimes necessary to work in awkward or tight positions and handle greasy or dirty tools. Basic safety precautions must always be followed.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bilingual in English and Spanishis required.
- Minimum5+ years of experiencedirectly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Must provide your own personal tools.
- Computer experienceis required for using fleet maintenance software.
- Experience withDPF Regeneration systemsonCUMMINS and MACK trucksis a plus.
