As a Paint Process Engineer, you will design, test, and/or implement state-of-the art robotic painting solutions for automotive. The candidate will support all Stellantis North American Assembly Plants in connection with quality, throughput and Stellantis Production Way (SPW) and World Class Technology (WCT) initiatives such as workplace organization, logistics, and focused problem solving.
Responsibilities:
- Robot program design, robot programming, and spray application engineering utilizing Process Standards to achieve required results
- The Specialist will work with other members of the Process Engineering Group on projects involving the implementation of paint robot solutions at end-user facilities. Provide project support to verify and ensure that application equipment is performing as designed.
- Demonstrate the ability to record and interpret paint quality data such as film builds, defects, and color/quality.
- Provide technical expertise and assurance providing recommendations for application equipment improvements to enhance performance to reduce cost of the system at various Stellantis paint shops providing feedback and suggestions for improvements.
- Work with advanced process engineering support and solutions for difficult paint colors, applications issues and new paint technology like 4 wet.
- Optimize the integration of application equipment, including various applicators and fluid delivery equipment for projects (e.g. optimize color change, fluid presets, voltage settings and robotic pathing.) Strong written and communication skills to provide progress updates as required for management.
