Overview:
Thompson Pipe Group seeks a detail-oriented Contract & Dispute Resolution Specialist to support project teams in administering contract terms and resolving post-award issues. This role focuses on ensuring contractual compliance, interpreting terms and conditions, and facilitating dispute resolution - working alongside Project Management, Sales, and Finance. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and experience navigating construction/engineering contracts.
Core Responsibilities
1. Contract Administration Support
- Serve as subject matter expert on post-award contract terms and conditions for Project Managers
- Interpret contractual language regarding indemnification, change orders, warranties, payment terms, and compliance requirements
- Maintain organized records of contract modifications and correspondence
- Flag potential risks or non-compliance issues to project teams
2. Dispute Resolution Facilitation
- Investigate and document claims/issues arising during project execution
- Collaborate with Project Managers to develop strategic responses to disputes
- Prepare supporting materials for negotiations, mediation, or arbitration
- Track dispute trends to identify recurring contractual pain points
3. Training & Process Support
- Develop tools/templates to help Project Managers self-serve routine contract questions
- Conduct periodic training sessions on contract interpretation basics
- Assist in updating standard contract language based on lessons learned
Qualifications & Background
Required Experience:
- 3+ years in contract administration, claims analysis, or project controls
- Exposure to construction/engineering contracts (AIA, EJCDC, or similar)
- Experience supporting (not leading) negotiations or dispute resolution
Education (Any Of):
- JD
- Bachelor's in Construction Management, Business Admin, or Engineering
- Paralegal Certificate with contract experience
- Certification in Contract Management or Claims Analysis (NCMA, DRBF, etc.)
