Sr. Manager, Technology Management - Software Engineering
The Role
Our goal at Fidelity Charitable is to design and build a suite of capabilities supporting Legal, regulatory and compliance needs. You will be responsible for the managing engineering associates and delivery and technical ownership of a portfolio of applications assigned to the Orchestration team. You will work very closely with product owners, architects, and engineering teams to deliver high quality, reliable, cloud-based technology solutions to meet our business needs.
As Senior Manager, you will blend engineering knowledge and experience with a passion for coaching and mentoring to deliver scalable and high performing solutions. You will be responsible for the managing engineering associates and delivery and technical ownership of a portfolio of applications assigned to the team.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- 5+ years of professional, hands-on Software Engineering experience in Java, Spring boot and API Full Stack Development.
- Development experience in AWS is a plus.
- 2-3 year in people management with excellent people leadership skills with demonstrated ability of leading and developing software engineers.
- Engineering background with a consistent record of delivering to cloud at scale
- Experience with modern agile engineering approaches, CI/CD practices and focus on operational excellence.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with technology and business partners across Fidelity.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
- Exceptional mentoring and coaching skills, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
- Work in partnership with Product and Engineering leaders to ensure alignment with the strategic business priorities and to provide increased value for our customers
- Plan and lead strategic technology initiatives.
- Support and empower engineers to enable delivery of increased value
- Enable an agile and frictionless organization by demonstrating agile behaviors
- Promote a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement
- Measure performance through established objectives and metrics and deliver agreed upon business, technology, and people results
- Align chapter members across squads to ensure the best utilization of talent while also building learning opportunities to develop skills
- Actively share insights, knowledge and industry practices across the organization
The Team
Fidelity Charitable software engineers develop next-generation technology that directly impacts how our customers accomplish their philanthropic goals. As a Software Engineer within our technology business unit, you will help take Fidelity Charitable applications to the next level of evolution. The position will require hands-on software development, technical mentoring, cross team collaboration with a diverse and co-located engineering team, and the ability to visualize customer issues as drivers for internal change.
As a member of the team, you’ll craft and influence creative solutions that meet not only functional, but also performance, scalability and reliability requirements.
