Who we’re looking for

ToyotaNorth Carolina’s (TBMNC) QualityDepartment is looking for a passionate and highly motivatedQuality Senior Engineer, Calibration.

The primary responsibility of this role is to develop, implement, and maintain calibration processes that ensure the accuracy and reliability of measurement and test equipment used in Toyota battery manufacturing and testing in compliance with internal and industry standards.

Reporting to the Quality Manager for the quality assurance group, the person in this role will support the quality control department's objective to exceed our customer’s expectations by supporting the manufacturing team in producing the highest quality product while partnering with customers to understand product feedback and improvements.

What you’ll be doing

  • Maintain and continuously improve a calibration program that meets applicable industry standards, customer and internal requirements, and regulatory requirements.

  • Schedule and perform calibrations to ensure equipment and instrument compliance and minimize production downtime.

  • Maintain detailed records of calibration activities, ensuring accurate documentation in compliance with quality management system (QMS) requirements.

  • Manage external service providers including negotiating pricing and contracts to secure the best possible terms for calibration services. Evaluate vendor performance and ensure quality standards are met.

  • Analyze calibration data to identify trends, implement corrective actions, and optimize measurement processes.

  • Lead investigations into calibration failures, out-of-tolerance conditions, and nonconformances, implementing corrective actions and improvements.

  • Work closely with various departments to evaluate and recommend new calibration equipment, software, and best practices to improve efficiency and reliability.

  • Support audits (internal and external) by providing calibration records, procedures, and technical expertise.

  • Train technicians and operators on proper calibration techniques and equipment handling.

  • Support/Set strategic direction to ensure our in-house processes meet all design/process control specifications to ensure TBMNC’s product exceeds our customer’s expectations.

  • Collaborate closely with other groups to promote strong kaizen culture to ensure customer expectations are exceeded.

What you bring

  • Previous experience in calibration, metrology, and/or quality engineering.

  • Bachelor of Science Degree (Engineering Preferred).

  • Strong understanding of metrology principles, GD&T, and measurement analysis.

  • Strong communication & visualization skills.

  • Ability to create and execute strategic direction.

  • Technical problem-solving ability (PDCA, RC/CM, TBP).

Added bonus if you have

  • Battery Manufacturing experience.

  • ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT), or equivalent metrology certifications.

  • Cross-functional work experience (Quality, manufacturing, engineering, maintenance).

  • Cross-functional collaboration (UTC, SOAR, etc.).

  • NAMQSR or ISO deployment, execution, or sustainment experience.
