Ultrasound Technologist Responsibilities:
An Ultrasound Tech must possess strong knowledge of anatomy and pathology, as well as excellent patient communication skills. Ultrasound Techs may work in hospitals, doctors' offices, diagnostic laboratories, outpatient care facilities, universities or other healthcare sites. Sonography jobs may include explaining the ultrasound procedure to patients, maintaining the ultrasound equipment, applying the ultrasound gel to the area being imaged, performing the ultrasound ensuring the transducer captures every section to be assessed, evaluating and interpreting images, and maintaining accurate records.
Ultrasound Technologist Qualifications:
- 1+ year of recent experience in this setting
- Valid professional license or registration if required by this state
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through AHA recommended and may be required
- Valid ARRT or ARDMS Credentials per your discipline
- Specialty-related certifications are preferred and may be required
- Professional References
