Located in the heart of beautiful southern Maine, our hospital is a leading emergency and specialty center offering services in surgery, internal medicine, oncology, dermatology, neurology, emergency & critical care, cardiology, and more.
We’re currently seeking a full-time Oncology Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join our incredible Oncology team!
This is a rewarding opportunity to be on the front lines of cancer treatment for pets, supporting our board-certified oncologists with procedures, treatments, diagnostics, and compassionate care.
Anticipated Schedule:
Monday-Friday (either Tuesday or Wednesday off): 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM

Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and chemotherapy as prescribed
- Support diagnostics including imaging and lab work
- Assist with appointments, patient flow, and maintaining accurate medical records
- Communicate with clients and referring veterinarians with empathy and clarity
- Provide emotional support and education to pet families during treatment
- Work hands-on with patients undergoing chemotherapy and advanced diagnostics
- Collaborate with a team of specialists and veterinary professionals across departments
What We’re Looking For:
- Licensed or credentialed veterinary technician (or VTS), OR an experienced veterinary assistant
- Someone passionate about specialty medicine, especially oncology
- Excellent communicator with both clients and medical teams
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Proficient in technology and medical record systems
