Job Summary and Qualifications

• The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.
• Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice.
• Maintains a safe therapeutic environment
• Identifiesnursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient.
• Registered Nurse plans individualized patient care whileutilizingan interdisciplinary approach
• Participates in performance improvement activities
• Provides care and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospital’s mission and vision statement

When acting inchargenurserole, registered nursesare responsible forday-to-day activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a therapeutic environment. Make staff assignments based on patient need,acuityand the skill of the staff. Serve as role models and clinical resource for the staff.Respond in a timely manner to requests for information or follow-up with physician, staff or patient issues.

What you will do in this role:

• As a Cardiac Prep and Recovery Nurse, you will provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their family members.

• You must use independent and considerable judgment in providing a wide variety of services.

• As directed by a physician, you will also give patients medicines and treatments.

What qualifications you will need:

• RN licensure by Tennessee Board of Nursing or a Board of Nursing from a compact state

• BLS from the American Heart Association

• ACLS training from the American Heart Association within 6 months of hire

• PreviousICU and/or ER experience REQUIRED!
