Stroke Medical – GRCU
The Stroke Medical Unit is a 40-bed unit. It is one of the designated stroke units at Northwest Hospital and also specializes in a wide variety of medical diagnoses. Staff members must utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status using critical thinking and implement clinical nursing interventions and patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes. Special training on cardiac monitoring, arrhythmia identification, and care of patients with stroke diagnosis is required for this unit.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field.
- Bachelor's of Nursing preferred from CCNE accredited schools
- Less than 1 year of experience
- Maryland Registered Nurse License
- American Heart Association CPR Certification, BLS Certification
