Experience:
• 24 months of role experience is required from any number of months.
• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience is required from last 4 years.
• Experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Additional Details:
Previous perm staff must be gone for 2 years before they are eligible to return in a traveler capacity. No exceptions.
Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.
If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.
Roles requiring a state licensure only: Cannot have any licensure hits
Guaranteed 36 hours per week
Ratios- 1:5-6; 1:4 if Covid
Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Any & all Infectious Disease, Isolation, COVID, MRSA, C-Diff, etc.
Experience or ‘Must have’ skills: Strong knowledge in MedSurg, ID, Isolation precautions, etc.
RN’s do not have to read or interpret strips.
Perm staff does self-scheduling. Travelers will be scheduled where they are needed. They will allow block scheduling as long as the needs of the unit are met.
Weekend Requirement: Every-other-weekend. Weekend shifts for Nights are Fri/Sat/Sun; Days are Sat/Sun
Holiday Requirement: Holidays will depend on the needs of the unit. If they don’t have enough perm staff to cover holidays, travelers would be expected to work holidays.
Call or standby requirement: Depending on their contract they could be called off for low census (Traveler would need to discuss the specifics w/ their recruiter if they have questions about this)
Floating Requirements: Travelers are the 1st to float. Floating is required to any MedSurg units. If floated to Tele they would be assigned patients w/ in skillset.
Scrub Color/Dress Code: Royal Blue - Scrub jackets are not required; however, if they wear a jacket it must be an actual scrub jacket & must be royal blue. No hoodies or sweat-jackets.
Unit/Department specific orientation: 1 Day of EPIC orientation, then 1 day of orientation on the floor with a preceptor. 3rd day on their own.
