In the Float Pool, you will work with diverse populations of patients in numerous units, departments and/or locations while learning from many of our best caregivers. This position is fast-paced and constantly changing, so adaptability and flexibility is important. Still, you will find a solid, united culture, where caregivers continuously encourage each other to be their best and provide unparallel patient care. Every day, you will be celebrated for all you bring to Cleveland Clinic.

A caregiver in this position works nights, 7:00PM – 7:30AM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide direct nursing care.

• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.

• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.

• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.

• Educate patients and their families.

• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

• Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).

• One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor’sof Science in Nursing (BSN)
