The Role
Our Banking & Financial Services group is looking for a Senior Consulting Manager, Payments to join our journey. We’re looking for someone who is passionate, high energy, and can offer different perspectivevs and new ways of thinking. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for acting as a Senior Business Analyst in Wealth Management projects, working with ISO 20022 standards.
We’re looking for SeniorConsulting Managers who can deliver within Cognizant’s Five Pillars of Consulting Excellence, which are: 1) Project Execution, 2) Expertise, 3) Business Development, 4) Practice Development, & 5) People Development. As a Senior Manager, Consulting (which is a Senior Manager level position) this means leading a team of Consultants through a client-facing engagement, managing escalations, and serving as a the owner of a workstream; maintaining expertise in your domain; meaningfully contributing to the sales process through a mix of RPI development, client presentations, financial modeling, pricing strategy, and flawless delivery; creating service offerings and/or client partner training materials; and contributing to PeopleCare initiatives, recruiting, and mentoring. Responsibilities
- Consult directly with our clients and provide advisory services designed to help them solve their most complex business and technology challenges
· Act as a senior business analyst in wealth management projects, contributing expertise from prior business analysis or consulting roles at a financial institution.
· Analyze and interpret ISO20022 messaging standards with a focus on payments (wires) and cash management workflows.
· Support CHAPS or SWIFT migration initiatives to MX standards through detailed requirements gathering and stakeholder coordination.
· Document functional requirements, write detailed business specifications, and support the technical implementation process.
· Participate in agile ceremonies and adapt comfortably to agile, waterfall, or hybrid delivery models.
· Facilitate requirements gathering sessions, maintain product backlogs, and develop business cases that align business and technology objectives.
· Write clear and concise user stories, conduct data mapping, and validate business logic across systems.
· Leverage domain knowledge of wealth and taxonomies to assess money movement, operational risk, and regulatory compliance implications.
Qualifications
- The track record and 10+ years of experience to achieve the above, which includes ideally 6 years of management consulting experience, where at least 2 of those (though ideally 4+) have been Digital technology (business or technical consultative) team lead experience
- Experience in wealth management transformation projects, preferably within a consulting environment.
- Strong understanding of ISO20022 and SWIFT/CHAPS standards.
- Skilled in functional documentation, process design, and bridging business-technology gaps.
- Proficient in writing user stories, working with data dictionaries, and managing product backlogs.
- Hands-on experience in agile environments and familiarity with traditional SDLC models.
- Subject matter expertise in money movement, payment processing, and risk-sensitive areas in the wealth domain.
- MBA or PGDM degree Preferred
- Chicago, IL for hybrid work model Preferred
