Position Summary: The nurse is an integral part of the imaging /radiology team. The major goal of the radiology nurse is to provide quality nursing care to inpatients and out patients in the Medical Imaging Department. The radiology nurse cares for patients across the lifespan. The radiology nurse is qualified and prepared to handle all unexpected emergencies that occur during any imaging/interventional procedures. Areas where the nurse may function are as follows: general diagnostic, interventional/ therapeutic procedures, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, breast imaging, and positron emission tomography. The overall goal of the radiology nurse is to provide the highest quality nursing care.
Qualifications
- Current licensure in the State of South Carolina as a Registered Nurse;
- Is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS); certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Graduate of an NLN accredited school of nursing.
- 1 year of Interventional experience and/or critical care experience is preferred
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
