Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Experience:
• 12 months of role experience is required from any number of months.
• 12 months of Medical Surgical Float Pool experience is preferred from any number of months.
• Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Alabama license or compact license (required after submission).
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >60 miles from facility to be submitted.• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

No RTO will be approved during the following dates:
Mother’s Day Weekend: 5/10 - 5/12
Memorial Day Weekend: 5/24 - 5/26
Father’s Day Weekend: 6/14 - 6/16
Fourth of July Weekend: 7/3 - 7/7
First-time traveler: Will accept a first-time traveler.. Minimum of 18 months experience in MedSurg and/or ICU. with EPIC or Cerner experience.
If strictly ICU experience, Cerner is required.
Staff has to be gone for 6 months before returning as a traveler. From last shift worked to start date
Will be assigned a home unit on the first day of orientation.
Typically, 1:4 ratio. With the lower ratio, the expectation is for RNs are to turn patients, assist with baths, ADLs, etc.
Floating: If yes, where Any like unit/patient location (MS-MS, MS-ICU task, MS-ER/MS holds; ICU-ICU, ICU-MS task or limit of 3, ICU-ER/ICU holds)
6 North Trauma Surgical
Patient Types: General Surgery and Vascular surgeries
Skills required: At least 1 year of trauma/surgical experience. Wound care, chest tubes, NGT, IV skills, medication administration/documentation and escalations
5 South Neuroscience
Patient Types: CVA, TBI, Seizure, AMS, Spinal Fusion, Craniotomy, Degenerative Diseases, post trauma, angiogram
Skills required: IV start, blood draws from central lines, trach care, PEG, NGT, Colostomy/Ostomy, Wound Care, Chest tube, Surgical Site Care, C-Collar, Abdominal Binders, Restraints
5 North MedSurg/Oncology: chemo experience high preferred but not required
Patient Types: All patient types except stroke and MI, palliative care, ETOH withdrawal. MS/Oncology patients
1:6 for RN and LPNs
Skills required: Trach care, chest tubes, PEG tubes, wound care, drains, foleys, IV starts; Chemo administration, if certified.
Tele monitoring on hallway monitors and by tele techs on ground floor
4 South Clinical Decision Unit
Patient Types: General MedSurg
COPD, CHF, Diabetes, MRSA, VRE, C-Diff, COVID, Pneumonia, Renal Failure, Sepsis, UTI, End of Life Comfort
Skills required: Assessment, prioritization, communication and documentation skills.
Tracheotomy care, Suctioning, O2 Therapy, ostomy care, Foley care, External catheter care, PEG/NGT care and use, wound care, chest tube, central line care, pressure ulcer management/preventive measures, falls prevention management, restraints.
3 South Orthopedics
Patient Types: Orthopedic and spine: Joint replacements, fractures, fusions, laminectomies, etc.
Skills required: PCA pumps, wound care (negative pressure dressing), dressing changes, foley, drains (hemovacs/JP drains)
3 North MS/Ortho/Urology
Patient Types: Urology, ENT, ortho, MedSurg
Skills Required: Trach, wound care, wound vacs, IV starts, CVL dressing changes, follow nurse-driven foley protocol.
Please ask if the RN has telemetry experience. IF yes, please elaborate on experience and include in offer email to CRT.
Telemetry monitoring tech Are RNs required to read/measure tele strips Yes, telemetry is monitored by Telemetry Techs, RNs are required to interpret and confirm q4 hours strip reading
Orientation: Travelers who are new to the facility or return travelers who have been gone for 1+ years will have 24 hours of classroom time and 24 hours on the unit
Weekend rotation: Every other or 4 weekend days per month
Holiday Expectations: One major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy
