ROLE: HR Generalist
LOCATION:Duluth, GA. (Atlanta) /onsite 5 days week
SUMMARY:
Supports HR compliance efforts with a focus on leaves of absence, workers’ comp claims, and employee relations. Administers FMLA, ADA, and disability leaves, manages workers’ comp cases, and assists with investigations and audits. Partners with HR leadership to maintain policy compliance and, as needed, supports admin functions like newsletters, employee training, and org-wide HR initiatives.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
– Administer and track FMLA, personal leaves, and disability accommodations in compliance with legal and company policies
– Manage workers’ compensation claims, working closely with employees, insurance providers, to ensure smooth processing
– Maintain accurate records of leave balances, claim statuses, and return-to-work arrangements
– Act as the main point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave policies and workers’ comp procedures.
– Conduct employee relations investigations related to misconduct, policy violations, and workplace disputes
– Ensure compliance with company policies, EEOC, ADA, and labor laws, providing guidance to managers as needed
– Assist in updating HR policies and procedures to remain compliant with employment regulations
– Support HR projects and audits related to compliance, risk management, and employee relations
– Support the development and delivery of employee training related to compliance and HR best practices
– Assist with internal HR communications, including drafting newsletters and updates
– Provide general organizational support to HR leadership on cross-functional projects and initiatives.
EXPERIENCE:
– 4+ years of experience in HR, compliance, employee relations, or a related field.
– HR experience, with a strong emphasis in leave administration, workers’ compensation, and compliance
– Strong understanding of FMLA, ADA, EEOC, and workers’ compensation regulations
– Prior exposure to multi-state compliance environments is a plus
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
– HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus but not required.
– Detail-oriented and highly organized, with strong documentation skills- skilled in Microsoft functions including Excel, Work, PowerPoint.
