Experience:
• 24 months of role experience is required from any number of months.
• 24 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience is required from last 4 years.
• 3 months of experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Arizona license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

ER float positions will require floating between different ER satellite locations in the area. A home base facility will try to be established, however this may not be the facility the clinician is regularly at. A schedule will be made in advance, so clinicians is aware of what location they’ll be reporting to.
First to float.
What units are included in the float pool: ICU, MedSurg Tele and PCU across both campuses and would include inpatients holding in ED. East Campus is Campus 2. East Campus NextCare is 10 bed double occupancy has ICU and stepdown patients, West campus Stepdown is 14 rooms (double occupancy), average census is 20. West med tele is 95 beds, divided into 4 areas.
MedSurg is broken down into 10-room pods, double occupancy.
Nurse:Patient Ratios: PCU 1:4 MedSurg Tele 1:5-6.
Common diagnoses/Types of patients Geriatric patients, ortho patients, strong cath lab
program so post procedural patients, caring for groin sites in stepdown unit. Post MI, post
Cardiac Cath. CABG post-op day 3-4.
Experience or ‘Must have’ skills: at least 1 year in ICU setting.
Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling Block scheduling ): 7-7 for AM and PM.
Scheduler for float pool will make the schedule. Schedule is published 6 weeks out for 4 weeks
at a time. Travelers will need to be flexible. Night shift will try to accommodate for block
scheduling.
Weekend Requirements: Every Other.
Holiday Requirements: Will include travelers in perm staff rotation.
Is there a call or standby requirement : Yes-on shifts when we end up with excessive staff. We would put them on standby for their 12 hour shift with the understanding that if we end up needing them, we can call them in at any point during those 12 hours.
Scrub Color/Dress Code: Currently - solid color professional scrubs. October will allign withDignity guideline which will be Navy scrubs.
