Psychiatric ED Unit
Highlights
Specialized psychiatric
emergency unit, located within the Main ED.
Patient are triaged
through the Main ED & brought to crisis unit if psychiatric care is needed.
RNs care for them &
complete assessments as the patients wait for evaluations.
Adult & pediatric
patients are treated.
Security has a strong
partnership & presence with the unit.
Staffed with psychiatric
counselors and RNs.
Cross-training to adult
inpatient psychiatric and Child & Adolescent Psych Unit provided.
Available Role:
Full Time Day: three 12-hour shifts and every 3rd weekend
Key Responsibilities
As a Clinical Nurse you will deliver proficient nursing care to patients and families whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex. You will identify current and potential complex problems of specific patient populations and critically analyzes trends and changes in patient status and plans appropriate interventions directly or indirectly through other nurses.

Qualifications
- ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
- 1 year of RN experience required; 1 year of psychiatric crisis intervention/Psych ED RN experience strongly preferred.
- Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required.
