Youth Apprentices in nurse aide roles join a dedicated nursing team providing the excellent patient care we’ve come to be known for. You will work with a nurse mentor who will help guide your training while providing ongoing support in the role. If direct patient care is exciting for you and you’ve already completed the Oklahoma Nurse Aide certification training with a passing score on the state exam, this could be the perfect role for you.
Participate in progress reviews scheduled with mentors, school staff, parent(s) or guardian(s), and employer
Create a positive patient experience by assisting patients with their activities of daily living including assisting with baths, ambulating, feeding, skin care, personal and oral hygiene and making occupied and unoccupied beds
Assist with performing procedures such as toileting, turning, cough and deep breathing, catheter care, collection of biological specimens, measuring and recording intake and output of fluids

Job Summary:
Assists with administrative and clinical duties of a physician’s office from general office procedures to the technical phases of examining room assisting and elementary medical laboratory techniques.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responds to patient inquiries both in person and via telephone.
- Schedules patient appointments.
- Maintains patient records and perform administrative tasks.
- Sets up area for exams/procedures and room patients.
- Instructs patients in the collection of specimens.
- Assists in performing testing under the supervision of staff.
- Assists physician with patient care for routine examinations.
- Cleans and prepares supplies and instruments. Maintains inventory.
- Obtains vital signs.
- Respects patient confidentiality and maintains Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- Must be at least 16 years of age and currently enrolled in High School or 18 years of age with a High School diploma/GED
- For IL/MO: Completion of a state approved unlicensed assist personnel program (UAP) or meets the exempted UAP guidelines (documented proof required) or equivalency for licensing
EXPERIENCE
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Constant standing and walking.
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
- Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry.
- Frequent use of vision for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
- Occasional bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
- Occasional use of vision to judge distances and spatial relationships.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Occasional lifting/moving patients.
- Occasional use of smell to detect/recognize odors.
- Occasional driving.
