TransporterX org within Amazon's Last Mile Technology is focused on revolutionizing the final stage of delivery operations. OnRoad Execution Team is responsible for managing itinerary lifecycle of the transporters. In 2024, we managed itineraries of over 1.45M transporters and helped deliver 10B+ packages at 1.7B+ delivery locations WW. We are evolving our architecture and expanding our systems to seamlessly support rapidly growing business needs.
We are seeking a skilled backend engineer to join our engineering team. As a key member of this team, you will be solving complex problems, and working on difficult challenges in software engineering that will shape how delivery evolves here at Amazon. Key job responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services to support itinerary management systems serving millions of transporters worldwide
* Build and optimize high-performance APIs and microservices that handle real-time itinerary updates and delivery data processing
* Implement robust error handling, monitoring, and logging systems to ensure reliable operation of critical delivery management services
* Participate in system architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions that improve scalability, reliability, and performance
* Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while maintaining service level agreements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
