Job Summary
As the Training Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing, conducting, and evaluating technical training programs, with a focus on delivering both on-site and web-based courses.
Job Description
We are looking for a Training Specialist to lead the development and delivery of technical training programs. This position will be a 3-month contract that is full-time and hybrid in Austin, TX.
What You’ll Do
Prepare, conduct, and evaluate technical training programs
Write literature and materials for programs and design exercises to enhance lectures
Deliver on-site and web-based training courses covering various software solutions
Lead development of infrastructure for information delivery and participate in writing and maintaining training materials and supplementary technical documentation
Create instructor materials for different COTS Products and IT-Driven in-house solutions
Assist with formatting training materials created by other staff as requested
Determine needs and develop plans to meet customer requirements
Assist in designing computer-based and multimedia curriculum
Plan, direct, and undertake classroom training, electronic learning, multimedia programs, and other instructional technologies
Manage the training program in accordance with business needs, regulatory requirements, and Quality Management System
Help staff with productivity reporting
Research and recommend vendors and costs for various training methods
Stay current with developments in computer training field
Organize and draft curriculum using computer to break complex subjects into units of instruction
Teach technical courses and evaluate new instructional techniques
Incorporate new curriculum into teaching process
Develop and maintain classroom techniques that reflect professionalism and good discipline
Act as testing officer, conduct test analysis, and develop or revise test items
Work with a team of Training Specialists in technical and system curriculum delivery, revision, and maintenance
Gather, analyze, translate, and compose technical information into clear, readable materials
Collect data and analyze audiences and training needs based on new business processes and policies
Teach technical courses to maintain proficiency and evaluate new instructional techniques
Understand EIR Accessibility and assistive technologies used by people with disabilities
Communicate with customers requiring special assistance to obtain required information
What You'll Need
Required:
8+ years of experience as a training instructor or in a related field
8+ years of experience in training methods and technologies
8+ years of experience in curriculum development and instructional design
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
Experience with instructional design and training materials of Information Technology applications or systems
Strong presentation and facilitation skills
Excellent written communication abilities
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
