Experience:

• 24 months of role experience is required from any number of months.

• 24 months of Telemetry Unit experience is required from last 4 years.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Arizona license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• COVID booster required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

Guaranteed Hours 36

Shifts & Scheduling: 7a - 7p or 7p - 7a; Ability to self-schedule; however this could change from time to time.

Weekend Requirement 4 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule.

Holiday Requirement Rotate in with the perm staff

Floating Requirements Would float to med/surg/tele/overflow units and CRMC/MGMC Eds as needed. First to float

Beds CRMC 60 ED Beds, MGMC 31 ED Beds

Common diagnoses/Types of patients ED holds waiting for placement on a unit, primarily MS/Tele

Experience or ‘Must have’ skills Must have a strong cardiac tele background. Must be able to decrease cardiac drips per physicians’ orders and parameters. Nurses will be caring for more tele patients VS medical.

Requiring Tele Skills

Are RNs required to titrate drips Yes - Common titratable &/or set rate drips Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone

Nurses must be able to read & interpret strips.

Additional Notes Will be caring for patients from the ER who are waiting on a bed in the hospital.

Additional Questions May be asked to help with ED patients including vitals, IV starts and medication administration. Will not be asked to be primary RN for ED patient assignment.

**Travelers will need to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start, through UNA, only (with 2 max attempts). If they fail, they will be made a DNU for 6 months for CSH AZ and CSH Sac regions.

**There is also a PASS/FAIL SIM LAB on day one of orientation. If they fail, they will be sent home and made a DNU for 6 months.
