Position Summary
In this role, you will be responsible for collaborating with the Sponsors and Senior Leadership of Franciscan Ministries to provide administrative direction of initiatives aimed at raising the identification of Franciscan Ministries as a ministry of the Catholic Church sponsored by the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago. The Chief Mission Integration and Pastoral Care Officer provides processes to offer consultation, discernment, formation, education and inspiration related to the mission and values of this Ministry, the Catholic Church, and the Franciscan tradition. This position serves as the local Mission Director for the Corporate Office and Our Lady of Victory and is responsible for the development and implementation of Pastoral Services to assist in meeting the spiritual needs of our residents, their families and our associates. This position also chairs the Corporate Ethics Committee and is a designated participant of quarterlyboard meetings. The Chief Mission Integration and Pastoral Care Officer collaborates in Franciscan Communities to develop local leadership, mission teams and to assist with ethics consultation and education. In this role, the incumbent represents the Catholic mission perspective while providing strategic oversight to these functions. This position operates in a manner consistent with the Catholic identity and Ethical & Religious Directive (ERDs) for Catholic Health Care Services and represents the Franciscan Mission through affiliations with other religious entities and the community at large.
Essential Functions, Key Duties, & Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and support to all Franciscan Ministries sponsored by the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago in matters pertaining to Catholic Ministry, Mission Integration, Formation, Pastoral Care, Ethics, and the practical integration of faith perspectives in community operations.
- Serve as a representative of the Mission Integration functions of the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago to Franciscan Communities, pastors, congregations, and community groups and agencies.
- Assist in the development of applicable policies and procedures in support of mission integration, pastoral care, and ethics.
- Direct implementation of an orientation program to ensure all associates are educated concerning the Mission and Ministry of the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago and the Catholic Church.
- Direct the community representatives of mission integration and the administration of the communities in processes to educate, celebrate, integrate, and evaluate the integration of the mission philosophy in each community.
- Provide leadership in the execution of initiatives derived from the strategic planning process as they relate to mission integration, pastoral care, and ethics on a system and community level.
- Direct mission integration, pastoral care, and ethics through participation and leadership in system wide and regional activities, committees, and task forces.
- Assist in the development of relevant programs for lay ministerial education in accordance with policies of the local diocese.
- Work collaboratively within the Ministry to identify ways to foster the mission of the organization through strategies and initiatives.
- Serve as a consultant and resource to leadership and the local Directors of Mission Integration, Directors of Pastoral Care, and Chairs of the local Ethics Teams.
- Provide education as appropriate to enhance the overall level of competency and understanding of the Ministry’s mission and values.
- Lead in the Franciscan Leadership Formation program and fulfill the mandatory educational elements as defined for the position.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in theology or related field
Licenses/Certifications: Active member of the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council (APC) or the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC)
Experience: 5+ years of leadership and pastoral care experience
Skills& Abilities:

Travel: Moderate travel to communities required for events, meetings, trainings, etc.
