Job Description
We are looking for a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive care to residents of our client’s inpatient psychiatric facility, this includes performing care assessments, administering medications per physician orders, and charting on patient progress. This position will be Full-time and onsite.
Due to our end client, candidates must be able to work on CAI's W2 without a need for sponsorship now or in the future.
What You’ll Do
Assess resident complaints and determine action, notifying the supervisor when necessary
Admit and transfer residents to and from other units or outside sources
Administer oral and/or injectable medication and controlled medications in accordance with facility policy, and within their scope of practice as defined by Florida law
Observe for side effects or adverse effects to medication and report to the assigned supervisor for further assessment and treatment
Prepare paperwork as required for consults within the facility and outside appointments
Coordinate residents’ appointments with unit staff to ensure medications are appropriately timed for resident movement to and from the unit
Provide emergency medical/psychiatric treatment within scope of practice as defined by facility and Florida law, and notify the supervisor for further assistance
Complete incident reports factually and objectively within the appropriate time frame as defined by the facility
Complete progress notes on resident care within the appropriate time frame as defined by the facility
Be responsive and compliant with current resident rights and advocacy issues, adhering to and complying with facility policy
Maintain appropriate and professional behavior during interactions with residents, supervisors, and other staff members
Display professionalism throughout employment, including but not limited to, arriving to work on time, maintaining an accurate timesheet, and maintaining a professional appearance as defined by facility policy
What You'll Need
Required:
Must be at least 18 years of age at time of hire
Must hold unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida
One year of acute care or two years of clinical nursing experience
Must be CPR certified, or able to complete training
Must be able to complete full orientation at time of hire
Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of position including the ability to lift and carry 20 lbs., remain alert while on duty, and work 16-hour shifts on occasion
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
Must be able to communicate with customers/team members over the phone and in person
Ability to move about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite to another
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment such as a gloves, goggles, mask, gown, and protective footwear throughout the day
Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 20 pounds regularly
